The official bid to purchase 130 Lower Church Road, Burgess Hill
Our local community has explored the possibility of finding a Mosque for many years. In June 2016, our community found a building to create the first Mosque in Burgess Hill. We gained unanimous support from all members of the community to prepare to submit a bid.
On the 16th September 2016, our community officially submitted our offer to Crickmay Surveyors for them to consider.
Here is the official letter which was sent,
Unconditional formal cash offer of £230,000 for the purchase of 130 Lower Church Road
Dear Crickmay Surveyors,
Our community in Burgess Hill are very interested in purchasing your property at 130 Lower Church Road in Burgess Hill.
We are a small and growing community in Burgess Hill and our purpose is to continue to use the building as a multi-purpose community centre for meetings, pray and to organise social gatherings for everyone in our town.
More importantly we want to use the centre to bring together people from different walks of life to help contribute and promote a better society.
Since we have found your property, our community has held a series of meeting and we have had unanimous support to purchase your property. We believe this is a wonderful opportunity, which will make a real difference in Burgess Hill for many generations ahead. At this moment, we are applying for our community to gain a charity status.
Currently our community has approximately £127,831.58 in the bank and a further £108,020 in pledged donations, which would be made available if you decide to accept our formal cash offer. I have attached a bank statement and a list of pleaded donations from people in our community.
We have contacted Mid Sussex District Council, who confirmed that under the building can be continued to be used as a community centre in Burgess Hill. We have instructed Bennett Oakley Solicitors in Burgess Hill, to act on the purchase of your property.
If you decide to accept our offer, our solicitor believes the process will be very smooth and likely to be completed within six to eight weeks. If needed, we are happy to put an initial deposit to secure the property.
